This is how crazy happy and surprised Awilas is after winning the prize for Newcomer of the year at Folk- och Världsmusikgalan in Helsingborg! We have worked so hard and wondered where our music belong, and to just be recognized like this means the world to us. Also we got as a special prize one weeks residence at Eric Sahlström institutet in Tobo, thank you so much!
There is so many people we want to thank, but we'll start with sending all our love to the people who made our debut album possible: Joel for recording and producing, Hallimash for your stunning artwork, Lina Loca for the beautiful album layout and Linus Andersson for mastering.
And of course the wonderful artists that performed with us on our release concert: Li Molnar Kronlid for your dance, Zofka Kasparova for your flute playing and improvisations and Camilla Strandberg for your voice from another world. Love Lidén for your video art and Therese Larsson for doing our sound. Anna Heikkinen and Héctor Garcia Jorquera for the poetry. Anders Roos and Max Lindsten for photographing and filming. And the backbones of the release: Alice Ljungkrona, Karl-Fredrik Hagman and Minna Mönttinen for making the scenery and fixing everything for the whole evening! And just all the love in the world to all of you who support our music and voted to nominate us for this gala!
